D.J.:
Captain, Instructor & Manager

D.J. has been diving since 1999 when he visited the Florida Keys and went on a Discover Scuba Dive. He got into professional diving in 2000 after he sold his Internet consulting firm and decided to take a break from technology. He wears several hats at the dive center, Captain, Instructor, and fills in for the Reservations department.

Pete:
Captain & Maintenance Dept.

Pete retired as a Captain for TWA in 1998 after flying for 34 years. He is a Captain, but he's really our chief mechanic and like a Dad to everyone. You might notice some family resemblance, he actually is D.J. and George's Dad. He's been there from the beginning and we sure couldn't do it without him. Unfortunately as of March of 2009 we've had to do it without Pete. Pete passed away from lung cancer quite suddenly, and we all miss him more than words can express. He will always be part of Rainbow Reef, we can still hear him growling at us not to break the boats before we leave for a trips..

Jesus:
DiveMaster and 1st Mate

Jesus hails from Mexico by way of Minnesota. He loves to dive and probably knows all of our dive sites better than anyone on the staff. He has over 2000 dives in Key Largo alone! If you end up with Jesus as your dive guide on one of our trips, you'll surely see why most divers agree that you should "let Jesus be your guide!" We'll have T-shirts soon, and the rumor is that there is a Hollywood script in the works. Jesus also speaks both English and Spanish fluently and often assists in classes for our Spanish speaking guests. His name is pronounced "Hey-Soos"

Bill:
Captain, Master Instructor

Bill retired from the from a big corporate phone company a few years ago and decided to get into the professional side of diving. Bill and his wife (he married his high school sweetheart) moved to the keys in 2004 and have been enjoying it ever since. Bill became a Master Instructor in 2009 and you can always find him on the boat or teaching a class.

Jeff:
Instructor, DiveMaster and 1st Mate

Born and raised in Boston, Jeff was an attorney before he decided pursue a career in diving. If he's not teaching classes you'll find him on one of the boats or guiding a dive trip. Jeff has traveled and lived in about a dozen places around the world and speaks several languages.

Pam:
PADI Course Director

Originally from Colorado, Pam became Open water Certified in 1993 and then became and Instructor in 1998. Later that year she moved to the Commonwealth of Dominica, in the West Indies to work as a Dive Instructor and Dive Guide. After gaining extensive experience as a Dive Instructor and logging hundreds of dives, she began working as the Dive Team Leader for a coral propagation facility. She moved back to Florida in 2002 to open her own Dive Center in northeast Florida. In 2007 Pam became an HSA (Handicapped Scuba Association) Course Director. Pam joined Rainbow Reef in 2008 as our Course Director for our Instructor Training.

Allan:
DiveMaster & 1st Mate

Most people don't realize guiding dives or being 1st mate is really his alter ego! Allan is actually a talent musician that plays in a 1 man acoustic show at many of the local bars and restuarants, so if you don't find him on one of the boats, check the local watering holes and you'll be sure to get the chance to jam along with Allan!

Dale:
Instructor, DiveMaster & 1st Mate

Originally from Chicago, Dale moved to the Key Largo to follow his dream of becoming a dive instructor. He's still a Cubs and Bears fan, but doesn't miss the cold weather up there. You'll find Dale teaching or guiding on one of the trips, and he also helps with Maintenence.

Diego:
Instructor, DiveMaster &1st Mate

Diego was born and raised in Madrid Spain and moved to the US to immigrate after spending several years working as an electrical engineer. Diego lived in Paris for almost 10 years, where he received a Master's degree in Electrical engineering. He's fluent in Spanish, English and French. We think he sounds like the guy in the Dos Equis commercial, so we've nick named him The most interesting dive instructor in the world, and we are trying to get him to say "I don't always dive, but when I do, I prefer Rainbow Reef" just like the commercial! Diego joined Rainbow Reef through the Internship program and you'll find him out on the boats, guiding or teaching a class.

Meghan:
Instructor, DiveMaster & 1st Mate

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Meghan has spent several years serving our country in the Army National Guard. She was most recently stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and worked in TV and video production while there. She decided to join Rainbow Reef through the Internship program when she got home from deployment. We are all proud of Meghan for helping to defend our country and way of life.

Autumn:

Autumn is one of Rainbow Reef's newest members. She is training to be an Instructor through our Internship. She is from Akron Ohio and is on break from college where she is majoring in Psychology.
